The not so gem printerish gem printer idea

So bob I was reading through some topics and you said yeah gem printers are a thing but you want something unique right?

Okay so ideas....

Making a new class to do this with or accommodating the antiquarian because he's not so useful now with the perks.

If you wanted to follow through with making a whole new job like the banker class for gems you could make a gem miner/expert. The first thing you would do is the class is buy a drill to mine the ground, the drills could be upgraded like the printers the lower cost the more they break/produce less and the ground to mine could be anywhere or a location on the map. OR you have to get a chuck from a gem ore or completely build around a gem ore. Then after you got a drill you could get a uncut ore (ore is blatant but I'm pretty sure you don't want to make a new type of each gem being uncut.)
Then you would take that ore to a gem cutter which would cost money and maybe a gem (because logic, can't cut diamond with metal.) and then the final product (after time depending on still or maybe not idk less work/more work.) would be a random gem or few depending on Rngesus.

It's just a unique twist even though it distracts from the overall game but hey it's a clever idea even though it'd be some work but it's better than just a printer!

So, I waste gems, to get one gem?

You use one gem on the machine (if bob even wants it that way if he uses the idea.) and then you get many uses out if it so it's worth it.

So one gem for many. Sounds cool

Well, it should take a shitton of time to actually do, so then the entire server isn't just abunch of people gem farming, like the oil job on certain DarkRP servers.

Job has a limit but yeah and it would take a decent amount of time. The whole process is tedious anyways.
Maybe sometimes your starting still would find ore and you'd need to restart and maybe sometimes the machine would accidently destroy the ore.


The goal is to make something very profitable but that has it's ups and downs so as you said people don't just farm.

Yea and it would promote raiding too, if only like 2 people can become "Gem Miners" more people would actually raid.

Cops would have to do thier kob and counter raid and protect too.
