The Purge

Okay so this is something that I've had in mind for some time now, but I was never really sure how to go about it.
So I decided to ask you guys about it, for once, see what your opinion on it.
I was thinking that, maybe something like once a month, or so, we could have an event called The Purge (named after the movie of the same title) which would basically allow any form of RDM, without any consequences. No rules against killing civilians, no rules against civilians shooting cops, no rules against zombies, no rules against criminals siding with zombies if they want, no rules against siding with enemies to shoot your own teammates. Absolutely no rule what-so-ever as far as killing goes. (building rules would still be there though) For a duration of 12 hours.
The point of this would be, just like The Purge, to allow people to let out their aggressiveness and tension as well as weed out the weaker links in our players base. (such as kids that always whine about everything)
What do you guys think? Could this be a good idea? Or is it gonna be more trouble than it's worth?

Other than that, yeah sure that sounds interesting. If it doesn't go well the first or second time we don't have to do it anymore.

It'd make them leave the server. Which is what I want.

Movie was excellent, this idea sounds even better.
Will damage be tweaked or anything, or will it just be rules thrown out the window for the 12 hours?

cool. Now what about new players just first join and get rdm ? That day, we'll lose some people :/
I mean, personally, if its my first join and i don't know shit about how the hell its working for everything there and jsut get rdm all seconds... well i'll probably just leave and tell my friend that the server sux.
Should think about the new players.

I thought about that, and the only way we could help this issue is make sure we have active server greeters, and that admins are always on duty during the purge, making sure new players get greeted properly, and that they understand what's going on.
I'd also most likely make a little change to the hud, maybe make a banner on top of the screen that says like y'know, there's a purge going on, all RDM tolerated, get to safety, etc etc

Could we just change the loading screen like the Happy Holidays one to "TODAY IS THE PURGE! BE WARNED"
and then on top of that, maybe every 2 minutes something is said in chat like when new people have the gift in their inventory
and then server greeters actively greet newbs to make sure they understand.

I'm interested in a Purge Shelter, somewhere dealers can make small shops and people can take refuge.

The thing is that, like in the movie, if people know in advance when it's going to be, they can prepare for it, this builds up anticipation and tension for the big day to come, like a tournament or whatever

Could be good like a special event for when people want something different. It could be either that or "zombie invasion" or whatever events go on already.
You'd just have to be prepared to educate newcomers.
And if the vote was say 15/31, Yes, then the other 16 people may hate the idea and that may not be fair to just start killing like crazy.

this idea is perfect! just one problem for greeters: how are we going to explain the rules and have them follow them after the purage? because there going to join and than see ppl rdming others and think its ok. otherw wise its perfect and i like the idea.
